Embarrassing Moment

In my effort to become as healthy as can be I've been running 3 miles a day with my beautiful Chocolate Lab.  When my husband gets home from work he drops the dog and I three miles out from our house and we jog home.  Okay, I'm at a full jog and the dog barely trots.

So we reach a red light in downtown and have to wait.  While waiting my dogs sits, I give her a pat, and tell her she's a good girl.

Soon after, she starts acting funny.  People are walking every which way trying to get to the street fair.  I thought the crowd of people were making her nervous so I walked her in a circle to bring her back into a sit- stay.

To my surprise my lovely dog felt the sudden urge to relieve herself on the busy street corner.  Nooo, not number 1 but number 2.  Big dog means big mess!

I was so embarrassed.  I quickly whipped out my poop bags and straddled the pile so the people wouldn't step in it.

As I bent down to pick it up a thought crossed my mind.  I know scary, right?  I thought doctors have touched way worse things with only latex gloves so this is nothing.  I then starting thinking about all the women walking by looking at me, in disgust, picking up the mess.  At that moment I came to the conclusion that most of the women walking by with their strollers probably had a bowel movement while pushing out their little darling.  In an instant all my embarrassment vanished.  The things I think of to make myself feel better.

At least I showed everyone passing by that responsible dog owners pick up after their dogs.  Yes, even if it is on a busy street corner with a lot of people.

I must say, thank goodness there was a trash can on the other side of the street.  I really didn't want to jog two more miles carrying a poop bag.  I guess you could say I ran the crap out of  my dog today!=)

  2. That was great Lisa! I didn't push anything else out except Lucy but I totally hate it when people look at you weird for ANYTHING! Lucy does a ton of strange things and so does Ellie (our dog) and people just HAVE to look at you like you are from a different planet. ARGH! Hope you had a good fourth!
