Infertility Timeline
My husband and I thought we were being smart and responsible by waiting to have a baby until after we had been married for awhile, bought a house, and were settled in our careers. Come to find out, we should have been dumb and irresponsible. Here is our struggle with fertility.
2005~ Started trying on our own. We had been married for 5 years and owned our home for 4. Our careers were going great. Dreaming of the perfect family.
Nov. 2006~ Got referral to start fertility program in Feb. 2007 if we don't get a positive pregnancy test by then. No such luck!
Feb. 2007~ Fertility testing. All came back normal.
Mar. 2007 ~ Start fertility program by having to watch a video on the human body and different fertility treatments. My husband and I felt like we were back in 7th grade sex education class. During the class a picture of the fallopian tubes came up on the screen and my husband started laughing uncontrollably. When he finally removed the sweatshirt that was muffling his laugh and hiding his red face, he explained that the picture looked like the Dallas Stars Third Jersey (NHL team). I couldn't argue with him. Now we were both busting up laughing.

Apr. 2007~ Diagnosed with unexplained infertility.
May 2007~ Hysterosalpinogram (fancy word for x-ray of my tubes and so forth to make sure the pathway to my uterus is clear) results normal
Jun. 2007~ Start Clomid cycle #1 with IUI. BFN!
Jul. 2007~ Clomid cycle #2 with IUI. BFN!
Aug. 2007~ Clomid cycle #3 with IUI. BFN!
Sept. 2007~ Need to transfer to different hospital for more advanced treatment.
Oct. 2007~ Clomid cycle #4 with IUI because doctors at other place didn't do ultasounds with previous treatments. New doctor doesn't know how my body responded to Clomid so he wants to do a cycle so he can see using ultasound. BFN!
Nov. 2007~ Clomid and Menopur injections with IUI. BFN!
Dec. 2007~ Menopur injections (5 vials) with IUI. BIG FAT POSITIVE!!! Yes, our prayers have been answered.
Jun. 2008~ Deliver son at 26 weeks due to severe Preeclampsia. Read Ryan's Story.
We took a year off to grieve for our son (still in progress) and allow my body to heal. During this time we still tried on our own. I wasn't the crazy ovulation prediction kit, timing, and charting woman but we didn't use any form of protection.
Jun. 2009~ Another HSG x-ray to make sure the pathway from the tubes to the uterus was still clear. Results normal.
Jul. 2009~ Menopur injections with IUI. BFN!
Aug. 2009~ Menopur injections with IUI. BFN!
Sept. 2009~ Develop large cysts as a result of treatment. Need to lay off for a cycle.
Oct./Nov. 2009~ Menopur injections with IUI. BFN!
Dec. 2009~ Decide to move on to IVF. Menopur and Follistim injections.

Feb. 2, 2010~ BFN! Completely devastated.
Currently waiting for a good time to try our Frozen Embryo Cycle. We have three frozen monkeys waiting to be transfered.
