Today is the National Pregnancy and Infant loss Remembrance Day. Please light a candle at 7:00 p.m.. Leave it burning for at least one hour, so there will be a continuous wave of light around the world in remembrance of our precious little ones, gone too soon. My thoughts are with all my friends and grieving mothers who are remembering their sweet babies today and everyday.
Dear Ryan,
Tonight there will be a glow of light around the world in remembrance of you and all your angel friends. Although tonight is a special night, Mommy and Daddy think of you and remember you each and every day. I remember how the nurses would tuck you in nice and tight and within seconds you would kick your leg out. We loved watching you wiggle your toes. I remember standing at your bedside for hours just admiring your beauty and how perfect you were. I will never forget the day when Daddy and I came to visit you and when we said, " Hi Ryan" you peeked at us through one eye. The specialist advise that when babies open their eyes for the first time that you should remain quiet as not to scare them. Daddy and I couldn't help ourselves, we were so excited that we practically screamed and jumped for joy. Sorry if we scared you. The day most dear to my heart was when we got to hold you in our arms. You will forever be in our hearts and thoughts. We miss you.
Love Always,
Mommy and Daddy
Last Saturday, Dana and I participated in the OC Walk to Remember. This is one of my favorite walks because it recognizes all babies gone too soon. The funds raised are used to support parent support groups and hospitals. Many families will benefit from this walk. The day is started with a beautiful ceremony. A few parents tell about their journey and how they ended up at the Walk to Remember. A grieving dad read a poem in memory of his son who became an angel two months ago. That was followed by the reading of the baby names. This year, each parent walked to the stage and received a white rose in memory of their precious baby. To most people reading this probably sounds depressing but to a grieving parent it's nice to know that you're not alone.
Along the walking route signs are posted that have quotes by parents and family members. This year Dana and I sponsored a sign in Ryan's name. Also included below are some of my favorite signs.

Thinking of Ryan today - many hugs to you. We will be grieving together today. I am pretty sure Ryan and Samuel are hanging out together watching over us.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sara. I believe they are too. Thinking of your sweet baby boy Samuel too. Hugs for you as well.
